Part of our responsibilities at our place of employment is to plan, coordinate and facilitate events. Specifically, the people I was with and I system one gigantic conference and trade show each summer time and more than three or several smaller workshops throughout the year. The gigantic event costs an arm and a leg because hotels are so incredibly high-priced; Plus, they rip you off by not allowing you to bring in outside food or drink. You must use the A/V contractor they tell you to use, and the prices are high-priced. The costs go on and on. As a result, I am consistently looking for event sponsors. Generally, the sponsors are the companies that do corporation with our members, however every once in a while an unexpected organization is willing to sponsor something. This happened to me recently when I reached out to the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C contractor that services the hotel. I asked them to sponsor the event by donating toward the heating and cooling costs, much to our surprise, they agreed. The Heating, Ventilation, and A/C contractor wrote a check to our association and that donation went into the pot of money for conference. Generally, the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C companies do not have anything to do with that sort of thing. After all, they already service the hotel. However, this one undefined service director thought that when some of our members are searching for a fantastic Heating, Ventilation, and A/C service and replacement contractor, they might choose the one who put up a booth at the annual conference. I was quite ecstatic and I easily hope that he gets a new customer as a result of our event.
