Football games in the south mean heat, humidity, and mosquitoes!

It makes me really wish that he didn’t want anything to do with football and preferred basketball! His school does basketball season during the winter after all, and they have an indoor gym with air conditioning! That would make me far more willing to watch his games! Of course, I show up anyway, and I am genuinely proud when my son takes part in a particularly good play, which happens quite often, I’m proud to announce

If you live in the southeast, you understand something about summer; it can be very stubborn when it comes time for it to supposedly leave. My son wants me to come to as many ball practices and games as possible. He’s playing football, to be precise, but the afternoons and early evenings in which he plays are still quite hot and humid. Not to mention the fact that sunset and early evening sees the mosquitoes come out in earnest. Now, I already work outside for a living, so if anything, I’m quite eager to get home to my air conditioning at the end of the day. Attending my son’s football practices and games means that I’m deprived of that air conditioning for at least a couple hours, sometimes more. It makes me really wish that he didn’t want anything to do with football and preferred basketball! His school does basketball season during the winter after all, and they have an indoor gym with air conditioning! That would make me far more willing to watch his games! Of course, I show up anyway, and I am genuinely proud when my son takes part in a particularly good play, which happens quite often, I’m proud to announce. Sometimes, when I can’t stand the heat anymore, I’ll simply pull up my truck as close to the field as I can. It’s not the best view in the world, but it does give me some air conditioning relief! My son sure does have a whole lot of energy, but after practice or a game, he’s even more eager to get to the air conditioning for obvious reasons!
